Please get your affairs in order - hotel points, airline miles, things of that nature - because the Owls are still alive for the postseason. I’m not saying a bowl trip will definitely happen, but the Owls just cleared the toughest hurdle left on the schedule. There’s still no margin for error down the stretch with three games to play: on the road at Sam Houston up next, then FIU at home, followed by a WKU program in disarray. You just need to monitor the situation in case 68 Ventures Bowl glory comes calling in December.

What’d our friends over at PFF think about Kennesaw’s second season-saving win in as many weeks? After Rickie Collins went down with what appears to be a shoulder injury, backup QB Landon Varnes came out of the bullpen to throw for 254 yards and score the highest grade on offense with a 75.3. Dylan Gary and Boogie Woods followed close behind among the Owls in the regular rotation. Latrelle Murrell and QB3 Skyler Williams also were in the top 5 on limited snap counts.

Over on defense, the Owls played 95 snaps in the shootout, the second-consecutive week to get close to the 100 snap mark. As Jerry Mack said postgame, his defense showed up for the gotta have it stops, even if the scoreboard read 42 points for the opposition. Jeremy Greaves Jr, topped the charts on defense with a 79.9 - including one of the highest run defense grades I’ve seen in a while at 89.4. Tyler Hallum (75.7) finished as the highest-graded DB. LBs Baron Hopson and Josh Anglin followed with a 75.6 and 71.9, respectively.

Let’s see what PFF thought about the rest of Kennesaw State’s performance. Side note: If you would rather see a sortable chart, just tap the link below each leaderboard, and it will take you to one where you can arrange the ranking by specific category.
